> AIXTRON and the "Ministerium fuer Arbeit und Soziales, Qualifikation und Technologie des Landes Nordrhien-Westfalen" are to co-sponsor the "High power Electronics with Group III Nitrides" project with EUR1m.
The project is focused on high-frequency and high-power electronics based on gallium nitride and related compounds.

> Germany's ministry of business and technology (Bundesministerum fur Wirtschaft und Technologie) is supporting NanoPierce Card technologie' research (in co-operation with Elcos of Pfaffenhofen, Germany) into the assembly and bonding of LED arrays with funding of EUR100,000. The cooperation started at the end of 2000 and is set to last into 2003. The result would be area arrays comprising 100 or more LED dies one substrate.
