Sumitomo and Mitsubishi received approval to merge and create a new wafer company.
The company, called, SUMCO, has begun operations on Feb 1st ans its headquarter location is Tokyo.
The main activity of SUMCO is the production of 300mm blank sislicon wafers, positionning the company immediatly at N° supplier of starting sislicon substrates.
