Organic Transistors of the Future Novel Applications and novel Physics
Offer N°: 2608
Internship for a Master of Sciences or a 3rd Year Engineer
Internship for a Master of Sciences or a 3rd Year Engineer
This Master or end Engineering training project, combines experimental work (transport and electrical noise measurements on OFETs) and data interpretation. For the latter a good level in basic solid state physics is indispensable.
Organic materials (OM) have been successfully used for manufacturing large area displays (E-book, photography) or of printable electronics circuits used in disposable “environment friendly” electronics (e.g. for product labeling in commerce or industry). These recent applications resulted from the advancements not only in the OM technology, but also from a better understanding of the physical properties of the OMs, such as their electronic conduction. IMEP contribution in this effort consisted in demonstrating that some of the methods of Si transistors characterization can be used for the OM field effect transistors. Conduction in the OM is a process that finds no equivalence in classical semiconductors and is a challenging problem that we shall continue to tackle using the know-how and the sophisticated instrumentation techniques at our disposal in MINATEC. The devices we use come from several laboratories in France and abroad, in the framework of our collaborations
