Local environment: overall presentation

Research

Research in nanoscience is rapidly developing in many laboratories in Rhône-Alpes, which are participating, in various ways, in joint programmes.

> Research programmes supported by various affiliating bodies: CEA Grenoble, CNRS,
Grenoble INP
, Université Joseph Fourier (UJF) and French ministries.

> Research units:

- On the Minatec site itself (follow this link)

- Off
site numerous laboratories are heavily involved in nanoscience (incomplete list):
Laboratories belonging to the Department of Basic Research into Condensed Matter at CEA (CEA-INAC):
-Service de Physique des Matériaux et Microstructures
-Service de Physique statistique, Magnétisme & Supraconductivité
-Service des Interfaces et des Matériaux Moléculaires et macromoléculaires
Very Low Temperature Research Centre (CRTBT)
Grenoble Automation Laboratory (LAG)
Grenoble High Magnetic Field Laboratory (GHMFL/LCMI)
Grenoble Electrical Technology Laboratory (LEG)
Laboratory for the Study of the Electronic Properties of Solids (LEPES)
Laboratoire Louis Néel (LLN)
Laboratory of Physics and Modelling of Condensed Media (LPPMC)
Laboratory of Physical Spectrometry (LSP)
SIMAP - LTPCM
etc…

> Pluridisciplinary federations bringing together laboratories working on a specific topic, such as:
The ELESA federation which focuses on microelectronics, electrical engineering, automation and signal processing.
The Micro and Nanotechnology Federation FMNT
The Nanoscience Institute (projected), an interdisciplinary organization linking CNRS, CEA, UJF and Grenoble INP laboratories.

> Technology platforms:
At a local level all these laboratories draw on a network of technology platforms, designed to provide everyone working in micro and nanotechnology with the technical resources they need for research and fabrication, as well as access to a pool of expertise:
The Interuniversity Micrelectronics Centre (CIME)
The Advanced Microelectronics Project Centre (CPMA)
The INAC-DRFMC platform at CEA-Grenoble
The Nanofab technology platform at CRTBT for nanostructure fabrication.
The Plasma Research Innovation platform set up by LEMD, which will be hosted by CRETA
Leti's open technology platform (PLATO)
