Minatec® aims to bring together a wide range of skills and develop synergy
between organizations working in basic and applied research.
Minatec® also aims to take part in national and international collaboration:
>
Networks (in France and Europe)
>
CEA-Leti
and CSEM-Neufchatel,
etc.
Interdisciplinary working and collaboration between research activities
at the interface between major disciplines (physics, chemistry, biology,
etc.) constitute a major asset for the success of the centre's scientific
and technological development.
The scope of research is broad, but focuses
on several key topics. |
Focus of research at Minatec :
>
Laboratories, on the Minatec site, where research is underway
CEA-Grenoble laboratories
and mixed research units (UFR), parts of which belong to
CEA, CNRS,
INP Grenoble, INRIA,
and Université Joseph Fourier (UJF):
- CEA-Leti
comprising three departments:
Silicon
technologies
Optronics
Healthcare
information systems
- Silicon Nanoelectronics Photonics and Structure Laboratory (SiNaPS)
- Institute of Microelectronics, Electromagnetism and Photonics (IMEP)
- (INPG-UJF-CNRS)
- Materials and Physical Engineering Laboratory (LMGP)
- (INPG-CNRS)
- Microelectronics Technology Laboratory (LTM)
- (INPG-UJF-CNRS)
- Spintronics and Component Technology Laboratory (SPINTEC)
- (CEA-INPG-UJF-CNRS)
Collaboration between
various laboratories has led to the setting up of a federation:
Rhône-Alpes Micro and Nanotechnology Federation (FMNT-RA)
which regroups Grenoble's IMEP, LMGP, LTM and SPINTEC laboratories and
Institut des Nanotechnologies de Lyon (INL).

Technical and logistics resources at Minatec
Apart from the laboratories' own technical resources, Minatec can draw
on two technology platforms:
- The CEA-Leti PLATO platform with its technology
and characterization resources;
- CIME, the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre
for producing and characterizing the prototypes of new components.
The Advanced Microelectronics Project Centre (CPMA)
provides reception services (logistics) for microelectronics research
projects, with backing from laboratories on or off-site, startups or established
firms.
